Monsignor Edward Brockhaus

Father Ned Brockhaus was born and reared in Cincinnati, Ohio, the last of five children.  He began his studies for the priesthood after high school.  He received his bachelor's degree in philosophy from Xavier University in Cincinnati.  He studied theology at the University of San Diego and was ordained in 1964.  He received a Masters Degree from San Diego University and has done post graduate work at the University of Notre Dame at South Bend, Indiana and Jerusalem.  He has also attended language schools in Mexico.  His pastoral assignments have included high school teaching, Catholic Charities and various churches in San Diego Dioceses.  Before being assigned to St. John of the Cross, he was pastor for 11 years at St. Jude Shrine in San Diego.  He loves playing handball and taking his golden retriever "Rusty" for long walks at the beach.
